I love everything about this couple, their fabulously cute {click to read} story, their amazing chemistry, their jaunt along the Hudson River and through Greenwich Village. I love it all. The shoot really tells such a warm and cozy tale about being young and in love in New York.
About the photographer: Betsy Van Langen grew up as somewhat of a paparazzi within her home, yet didn't take her first photography class until she was an undergraduate at Loyola College in Maryland. After graduating in 2008 with a degree in Fine Arts, she attended the Post Baccalaureate Program at Maryland Institute College of Art. She is currently getting her Masters in Photography at Rutgers University. Her fine arts background allows her to mix creative and stylistic elements with timeless and classic imagery... As a kid, she always wanted to created pictures that people would keep and love forever. Now she does just that.

It’s a sad fact that over half of first marriages end in divorce. But people don’t have to give up on love and many get remarried. And this has given rise to a boom in second marriage destination weddings.
Destination weddings are uniquely suited for second marriages. If you had a big church wedding for your first marriage (also known as “starter marriages”), you may be reluctant to have another. It can be awkward to invite people who attended the first wedding, and many people feel uncomfortable because of the “wedding gift” factor. Basically, having someone buy a gift for the first wedding and then getting a gift at the second one makes many brides (and grooms) uncomfortable.
Destination weddings offer a balance between the larger ceremony a couple may want with the elopement they feel they have to have.
In our quest to find destination wedding stories from real couples, we found a YouTube video that we’d like to share. This couple is sharing their story of a second marriage destination wedding.

Prenuptials — a premarital agreement or a prenuptial agreement is something that most commonly presents itself in a second marriage or second or third marriage for either or both parties. Usually, kids that are straight out of college and getting married and don't have any assets or things to deal with don't even think about premarital agreements and most of the time don't — aren't interested in making one, and there's no real need to. But once parties have acquired assets, once they've established earning capacities and once they get married — get ready to enter into another marriage, there may be families of — children of prior marriages that they want to protect and, basically, assets that they are bringing into marriage that they wish to identify. Nobody gets married planning to divorce, but almost everybody who gets married for a second time recognizes that we can't always plan.
Again, not destination wedding related, but you’ll love it! This show on Fox might better be called Poor White Trash Nation. But just like a car accident, you can’t avert your eyes.
Jesse and Greg in Lawton, Oklahoma featured a man-vs-camel drinking contest. Rich and Lawnie in Idaho got married on New Year’s Eve with a port-o-potty themed wedding. The cake was an outhouse and rested on toilet seats. They featured his and her strip shows and full on food fight at the reception. And then there was Matt and Heather in Illinois with their hunting-themed wedding. The highlight here was the bride and her sister bridesmaid slugging it out.
So, not matter how bad your planning is going, take comfort in knowing your wedding will turn out better than these weddings.

Wedding wine and cocktail selections are not something you usually have control over. However, cocktail and spirit selections are a reflection of your personality. This is a point that you should try to negotiate with your venue.
For wedding wines, try to find something unusual and memorable (both for you and your guests). Many venues will give you one white and one red. Your will be a chardonnay (maybe a pinot grigio if you're really lucky). Your red will be a merlot or possibly a Cabernet Sauvignon. These wines are the same ones that are served at nearly every event known to man - from boring work receptions to the woman down the street's wedding. Not very fun, creative or inviting. Why not spice things up a bit? Or at least dare to be different!
We’re white wine drinkers, but are on an ABC kick (“anything but chardonnay”). Consider a Riesling (Chateau Ste Michelle from the U.S. or just about any riesling wine from the Mosel-Saar region in Germany) or a Gewurztraminer.
Instead of champagne, find a different sparkling white wine. We’re big fans of Prosecco and Franciacorta from Italy. (see Wedding Toast, Part I).
On the red wine front, why not a nice Côtes du Rhône or Chianti?
Finally, if you’re having a tropical destination wedding, consider doing cocktails instead of wines (your venue will definitely accommodate this, and frankly will love you for it…they make more money). We did this for our wedding and opted for Pina Coladas and Bahama Mamas.

One aspect of destination weddings that people often neglect is travel insurance. Destination weddings involve travel and sometimes the worst case can happen – a trip gets cancelled due to weather, illness or something else.
Travel insurance can protect you from these cancellations and problems. If your trip gets cancelled, you can get a refund. If you should encounter a medical problem, most travel accident insurance can get you good medical care. Personally, we both carry International SOS coverage through our employers for emergency medical. However, that wouldn’t help us with the financial piece of a cancelled trip.
If you purchase travel insurance, make sure it covers trip cancellation, trip delay and medical coverage. Most insurance coverage also covers lost or stolen luggage and personal property.
Do your homework to make sure you’re getting a good policy. Be sure to read all the fine print and ask lots of questions. Also, make sure your policy will cover the wedding (or "event") portion of your trip, not just the travel part.
From our perspective, travel insurance is mandatory for a destination wedding. Given the amount of money you’re spending on your big day, it’s better than taking any chances.

Hello lovelies, hope you had a wonderful weekend! Ours was quite busy, so once Sunday night rolled along, I was excited to curl up and chill out. At the request of photographer Peter Forman, I tuned into TLC's new show, DC Cupcakes. The six-part series follows sisters Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis as they run a small DC bake shop called Georgetown Cupcake... Coincidentally, the duo also played a role in today's real wedding feature. Suzanne and Ryan met while getting their MBAs at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, and chose to get married on the university grounds at Dahlgren Chapel. According to Suzanne, "Our wedding was meant to be city chic yet approachable," so they planned an 85 guest reception with an intimate dinner party vibe. The couple chose a beautiful sampling of small desserts by Georgetown Cupcake, and welcomed the DC Cupcakes film crew to shoot their wedding. All the {delicious} details were absolutely gorgeous. Two months after the US launched its biggest ever assault on Fallujah, what exactly happened inside the city has, until now, remained a mystery. Now, for the first time, Guardian films reveals the true story.
It was billed as a resounding military success. Over 1,200 insurgents were meant to have been killed and another 2,000 trapped inside Fallujah. But now this version of events is being challenged. Far from being crushed, rebels claim they left the city in an organised withdrawal. "It was a tactical move," explains insurgent leader Alazaim Abuthe. "The fighters decided to redeploy to Amiriya." Before they left, fighters booby-trapped many bodies. People are too scared to move them so the corpses lie rotting all over the city. Rabid dogs feed off them and then attack returning residents. Far from stabilising Iraq in preparation for this month's election, the assault on Falluja has fanned the flames of civil war. Today Fallujans are too busy trying to stay alive in freezing refugee camps to worry about ballot papers that haven't arrived for an election they have no intention of voting in. As one resident comments, "We're not interested in this sort of democracy."
