I'm one of those creative type-A personalities that awakes with an idea at 4 am and stirs for hours just thinking about the details. For example, last night I found myself in deep thought about the below Vargas Girl print. It's been hanging in my powder room for months, but suddenly I was intrigued by the playfulness of her coquette-like pink corset and black satin bow. Before long it inspired this "feminine meets film noir" inspiration board of soft blush and bold black for the retro-glamorous bride. It's funny because I often tell brides who are struggling with their wedding style or colors to buy a pocket journal and jot down things that inspire them throughout the day. Most times their personal style is hiding all around them in the things they've collected, purchased or surrounded themselves with. Well, if this isn't testament to my own words, I'm not sure what is. Hope you enjoy!

This Chicago wedding video trailer has a wonderful nautical theme to it. Everyone started the day off touring the city in the Anita Dee I boat. After that, the wedding party went to the Drake Hotel and prepared for the wedding ceremony. Ann was able to do a photo shoot on top of the Drake Hotel's roof, which was absolutely amazing. During this two-camera shoot, you will also see a lot of great Steadicam work. The couple then boarded separate vintage cars and continued their wedding celebration on the Chicago-based Celebration boat. Wedding vows were exchanged on the Celebration (with Buckinghman Foundatin in the background), Dinner was served, and everyone danced the night away under the Navy Pier fireworks. Again, not destination wedding related, but you’ll love it! This show on Fox might better be called Poor White Trash Nation. But just like a car accident, you can’t avert your eyes.
Jesse and Greg in Lawton, Oklahoma featured a man-vs-camel drinking contest. Rich and Lawnie in Idaho got married on New Year’s Eve with a port-o-potty themed wedding. The cake was an outhouse and rested on toilet seats. They featured his and her strip shows and full on food fight at the reception. And then there was Matt and Heather in Illinois with their hunting-themed wedding. The highlight here was the bride and her sister bridesmaid slugging it out.
So, not matter how bad your planning is going, take comfort in knowing your wedding will turn out better than these weddings.

Over the last few months, we have been traveling back and forth to Europe quite a bit. Through our travels, we’ve met many young people from Europe traveling to the U.S. for destination weddings.
If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. In the U.S., there are more locations, more options, more venues and more vendors. Given the weaknesses of the U.S. dollar against the Euro, it’s also a lot cheaper for them (although the dollar has bounced back a little over the last two months).
With that said, there are big changes to the U.S. Visa Waiver Program coming tomorrow. The Visa Waiver Program is for residents of certain countries to travel to the U.S. without a visa – mostly Western European countries.
Effective tomorrow, if you are part of the Visa Waiver Program (i.e., you don’t need a visa to travel to the U.S.), you must still register with the U.S. Government. This new registration system is called ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization). You can fill the form out on the Internet and approvals take seconds. Once completed, you will be able to travel to the U.S.
The program is designed to give U.S. law enforcement more time to screen for potential terrorists. Unfortunately, this means it takes more time for non-U.S. residents to enter the U.S. (and more hassles).
If you are thinking about a destination wedding in the U.S., you should be aware of this additional step you will need to go through. And if you are a destination wedding vendor in the U.S., you should consider mentioning this to your foreign clients so they aren’t caught by surprise.

Just last week the entire Glee cast was spied shooting outside of their normal digs on the Paramount lot. And guess where they were? They headed over to the Congressional Church of Northridge, where word has it they shot a wedding scene. All the guys were decked out in suits and boutonnieres, so we know for sure it wasn't a funeral. Plus, to further confirm the wedding rumor, all of the ladies were wearing matching red dressing - so perhaps they're all bridesmaids in this mystery ceremony.
The number one possibility everyone that has Glee fans cheering is a wedding between Kurt's Dad and Finn's Mom. Although apparently Us Weekly is reporting that Sue is going to attempt to marry herself - sounds crazy, but we wouldn't be too surprised if she went for it.
Another peculiar tidbit about the Glee cast siting was the noticeable appearance a fake black eye on Chord Overstreet's face. We're wondering who's responsible for the Sam beat down? From the looks of the vibe on-set, we'd be shocked if Puck threw the first punch. So maybe it was the football guys, Finn, or maybe even someone you wouldn't suspect like Rachel.

I'm the awe-inspired blond in the far left corner, swooning over the luscious dresses sweeping down the runway. Each one was more gorgeous than the last, truly.Last month, Merci New York was thrilled to sit in on a runway-inspired fashion editorial that is now gracing the pages of Martha Stewart Weddings' {amazing} Fall 2010 Fashion Issue. The spread is packed with pages upon pages of luxe and stylish eye candy. From ethereal gowns {think Oscar de la Renta, Angel Sanchez, Carolina Herrera...} to elegant baubles {Harry Winston, Van Cleef and Arpels...} and every accessory in between {Christian Louboutin...}, it was truly a fashion-loving bride's dream -- and a wonderful afternoon for myself and fellow wedding bloggers Bee Kim of Wedding Bee and Jillian Clark of 100 Layer Cake. Also sharing the fruits of the MSW styling team's impeccable eye were industry style-luminaries Sylvia Weinstock, Mark Ingram, Ronnie Rothstein, Gabriella Risatti, and of course, Martha Stewart Weddings Editorial Director, Darcy Miller.... whom you can also see sitting around the front row of the stunning Ukrainian Institute, {which actually happens to be a tres-chic wedding locale for the uptown bride}. The historic Upper East Side mansion was actually a private home until 1955, and has played host to several posh events and iconic films in the past 50 years. It's beautiful architecture and dramatic moldings made me feel swept up and dropped down in the reels of Valentino: The Last Emperor. It was a phenomenal setting. But I digress. Let's talk fashion. Suffice it to say, my behind-the scenes i-Phone shots couldn't hold a candle to these gorgeous images... so you will just have to take my word on the pure scope of this project. As Sherri Caudell Brennan, MSW's Fashion Editor, swirled past endless racks of taffeta, lace and silk, and escorted me to her accessories pulls, my heart almost sank. Tables upon tables of stunning shoes anxiously awaited their five seconds of fame, including some very sparkly favorites by Giuseppe Zanotti, ribbony peep-toes by Badgely Mischka, and ever-chic Christian Louboutin pumps. Be-ribboned belts? Plush boleros? Blinding rings worthy for the likes of Tinsley Mortimer? Check, check and check! The back rooms were stocked with so many beautiful pieces, I wasn't sure how Sherry, Kate Berry and Daniel Biasatti could even select their looks. Their choices were remarkable though, and the pages of Martha Stewart Weddings proves it. Anyways, here I am waxing poetic, when you can actually experience this beautiful fashion editorial for yourself... The Martha Stewart Weddings Fall 2010 Fashion Issue hit newsstands this week, and I've already spied a few lucky brides perusing the pages at Hudson News at Grand Central Terminal.
