We just adore our note cards, business cards and gift tags {for our soon-to-launch retail site!} and couldn't resist giving you a sneak peek of where we are heading in 2010....

un breve video girato il 13\3\2010 alla stazione di mignanego , situata sulla succursale dei giovi e aperta al pubblico nonostante vi fermino solo 3 treni al giorno (al sabato neanche uno ) .
i transiti non sono proprio il massimo , ma quello è stato un sabato un po' sfortunato e ho filmato pochi merci , nonostante ciò il video mi sembra venuto discretamente bene data la scorrevolezza dei convogli che poco prima della galleria ronco si trovano in cima al valico della linea , dando qui prova di tuuta la potenza esprimibile , specialmente per quanto concerne i pesanti merci di coils .
la particolarità di questa stazione è il fatto di essere impresenziata al 100% (nessuno ti rompe le scatole!!!!) e soprattutto da questa è possibile filmare agevolmente i treni transitanti in entrambe le linee dei giovi.
questo video è però solo il preludio dei prossimi due che pubblicherò appena riparato il portatile , ma che sto giusto giusto montando ...

a short video shot on 13 \ 3 \ 2010 Mignanego station, located on the GIOVI LINEAND open to the public although there stop only 3 trains per day (none on Saturday).
transits are not exactly the best, but that was a bit unfortunate day and I filmed a few freight trains, despite what the video seems pretty good given the fluidity came convoy just before the tunnel ronco are perched at the pass the line, giving evidence here their power, especially with regard to heavy coils trains.
The particularity of this station is unpersonified at 100% (no one makes a nuisance !!!!) and above this you can easily shoot trains transiting in both giovi's lines
this video is just the prelude of the next two I will publish soon repaired the laptop, but I'm just editing them...

Chic Vendor Spotlight: Couture Invitations by Lela New York

Yes, invitations set the tone for any soiree, but it's often hard to find a pre-designed suite that captures all the elements of your wedding, or a custom designer who can create something cohesive and all-out fabulous. In such situations, we always turn to Lela New York, a Manhattan-based couture studio specializing in some of the prettiest silk boxed sets, hand drawn illustrations, watercolor paintings and luxurious letterpress finishing we have ever seen...
Creative Director Maria Cerff has become a mainstay in the Manhattan event business, having designed couture invitations for many opulent weddings and social affairs. Below, the young bespoke designer chats with Merci about all things Lela- from product, to studio space, to daily inspirations- and gives us a glimpse of her luxe, opulent aesthetic.

How does living and working in New York influence your work?
I love how clients from all over the world come and visit me at the studio. Every one of them has a different story to tell and I try to incorporate that into their luxury invitations and stationery. It truly is what inspires me to create different designs every time.

What do you like most about the New York City wedding industry?
I must say that the New York wedding industry has really some of the best in the business and am very proud to be among such talented pros... And now with all the social media out there, I get to interact with so many of them. Love that!

How does your studio convey your professional aesthetic?
When designing the Lela New York studio, I wanted to convey a feeling of a fun, creative space, which would give an uplifting feeling when you walked into it. I mixed both modern design aesthetics with antique patterns. For example, I mixed floating glass table tops and lucite chairs with pink and silver damask patterns. It's fun and I think clients like seeing my creativity extend past the designs.
What keeps you inspired day-to-day?
I love my pink walls! They warm up the design studio with a soft glow. It keeps me upbeat all day long. I also like keeping recent work out; it inspires me to move forward with my design.

If you could wish for one thing to help your business, what would it be?
I would wish to have my printer move next door, although I don't think he would like that very much!

wedding candy buffet Real NYC Engagement Session | Nora + James

Last week, we tweeted that we were about to post a killer New York City engagement session packed with gorgeous photography, city-centric settings, and great pops of color. In other words: a shoot filled with perfect inspiration for all our NYC brides to be {or quite frankly, anyone looking for a fab photographer}.
So we thought we'd start your week out with just that. Here's Nora and James' great engagement session, as told by their photographers, Katherine and Craig at Henry + Masci Photography... {BTW- We collaged as many as we could fit, but be sure to pop by the Henry + Masci blog for ALL the photos}.
About The Couple: Nora and James have been living in New York for years and were so excited to have their engagement photos taken there. The wedding is going to be in Maine so they wanted photos with a very different vibe. We really wanted to capture their lives in NYC, so we went to areas near where they lived and worked, capturing moments they live each day, like running across a busy street!
We arrived in NY for the shoot on one of the hottest days of the summer. As you know, the best way for us to get around was walking to most spots. We kept stopping for water breaks between locations. Nora and James were such great sports and never complained. You would not know from looking at the photos that it was sweltering!
Nora and James were so excited to be our tour guides and show us their city... They were so sweet and would point out unique buildings or new public art displays as we passed them. You could tell they felt at home in the city, especially when they started twirling and dancing on the cobblestone streets of Brooklyn.
To finish the session we went to the ever-popular Mexican restaurant, La Esquina. From the outside it appears to be a standard taco diner. But as most of you know, the real gem is inside and downstairs. Nora and James are the sweetest couple and so in love. We had so much fun with them and are really looking forward to their wedding in 2011!

We {Katherine and Craig} just tied the knot ourselves on Oct. 1, 2010! We are newlyweds and loving every minute. Having recently done the planning of our own wedding, we really relate to our couples. U.S. Wedding Travel

Over the last few months, we have been traveling back and forth to Europe quite a bit. Through our travels, we’ve met many young people from Europe traveling to the U.S. for destination weddings.

If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. In the U.S., there are more locations, more options, more venues and more vendors. Given the weaknesses of the U.S. dollar against the Euro, it’s also a lot cheaper for them (although the dollar has bounced back a little over the last two months).

With that said, there are big changes to the U.S. Visa Waiver Program coming tomorrow. The Visa Waiver Program is for residents of certain countries to travel to the U.S. without a visa – mostly Western European countries.

Effective tomorrow, if you are part of the Visa Waiver Program (i.e., you don’t need a visa to travel to the U.S.), you must still register with the U.S. Government. This new registration system is called ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization). You can fill the form out on the Internet and approvals take seconds. Once completed, you will be able to travel to the U.S.

The program is designed to give U.S. law enforcement more time to screen for potential terrorists. Unfortunately, this means it takes more time for non-U.S. residents to enter the U.S. (and more hassles).

If you are thinking about a destination wedding in the U.S., you should be aware of this additional step you will need to go through. And if you are a destination wedding vendor in the U.S., you should consider mentioning this to your foreign clients so they aren’t caught by surprise.

Hey Gleeks - what's going on. I'm your girl Joslyn Davis - thanks for joining us today on ClevverTV.

Just last week the entire Glee cast was spied shooting outside of their normal digs on the Paramount lot. And guess where they were? They headed over to the Congressional Church of Northridge, where word has it they shot a wedding scene. All the guys were decked out in suits and boutonnieres, so we know for sure it wasn't a funeral. Plus, to further confirm the wedding rumor, all of the ladies were wearing matching red dressing - so perhaps they're all bridesmaids in this mystery ceremony.

The number one possibility everyone that has Glee fans cheering is a wedding between Kurt's Dad and Finn's Mom. Although apparently Us Weekly is reporting that Sue is going to attempt to marry herself - sounds crazy, but we wouldn't be too surprised if she went for it.

Another peculiar tidbit about the Glee cast siting was the noticeable appearance a fake black eye on Chord Overstreet's face. We're wondering who's responsible for the Sam beat down? From the looks of the vibe on-set, we'd be shocked if Puck threw the first punch. So maybe it was the football guys, Finn, or maybe even someone you wouldn't suspect like Rachel.

Back from the B-List | Out-of-Town Guest Gift Idea

Hi everyone! Just wanted to drop a quick post to chat about this weekend's fabulous experience at the B-List wedding blogger conference in Washington DC and Old Town Alexandria. I'm sure you've already seen a few bloggers wax poetic about the great time we had, courtesy of Anne and Vane, as well as our local hosts Maria and Kelly of Ritzy Bee. Of course, I will be sharing more details {very} soon, but I wanted to take a moment to share a cute idea, courtesy of our wonderfully generous and fabulously creative sponsors...
Here's a detail that translates wonderfully into out-of-town guest gift and welcome basket design... Our {too-cute} lunch on Saturday was provided by Design Cuisine. The picnic style theme included sandwiches wrapped up in wax paper, B-shaped sugar cookies, old fashioned root beer local to Old Town Alexandria and {wait for it}... darling cloth napkins with the phrase "love at first bite" embroidered in blue. Really, it oozed cuteness. The soft geo-print boxes were courtesy of Smock. The concept is so simple, yet so thoughtful, and the photo box size guarantees reuse!
There are still many generous gifts and products I've yet to sift through, but as I do, you know I will be sharing! Astrid Mueller Custom Fashion Illustrations

We love the idea of using pretty custom illustrations to add a bit of whimsy to any wedding-related celebration... Be it for showers, rehearsal dinners, or a casual wedding, your custom-designed likeness can add a jovial twist and the perfect amount of pop to the party...
That said, if there's ever an artist to sketch your wedding-day self, it's apt to be Astrid Mueller Exclusive... so we were thrilled when this exclusive product shoot made its way to the Merci New York inbox.
Astrid worked hand-in-hand with Rahel and Manuel to create an illustration that was used throughout the wedding in lieu of monograms and other branding elements. The result was a cute and cohesive design that folded nicely into their wedding day decor.
After they tied the knot, Astrid gifted the couple with a framed artisan print of the illustration to enjoy as a keepsake for years to come.
