I love these photo booth images submitted by Scott Clark Photography. Everything about them works: The vintage color, the props, the backdrop... I'm in love.
The photo booth was part of a Mad Men themed birthday party, created by Lauren and Kristen of Bellafare. I don't know how these tres-talented ladies sourced all the great details, but I thought we'd share a few of Merci's own tips for scouting the perfect sixties-style accoutrement, right here in New York City!
- Finding the gear: Screaming Mimis on Lafayette Street is a great go-to for vintage frocks, hats and accessories of all eras. There's no way you'll leave empty handed.
- Scouting the props: Props for Today is an multi-floor emporium of great finds {and yes, I'm giving away one of my favorite resources here}. You'll be amazing at what you'll come across. Just make sure you have time to navigate through it all!
- Getting the glasses: The Columbus Avenue GreenFlea hosts Andre van Hoek from Retro Futuristic every Sunday. Andre is my favorite reason to go to the uptown flea... He travels in from Williamsburg with a slew of vintage eyeglasses that have me channeling my inner Betty Draper every weekend. They'll put the perfect nostalgic touch on your photo booth.
- Scoring the photos: Well, that's what you need Scott Clark Photography for. None of this would look half as awesome without a great photographer who can capture the vintage lighting, source and set up the amazing backdrop, or make your photo booth the hit of the party!
